Everyone involved in the MOT industry has a part to play in maintaining testing standards.
By working together we’re all making sure that the vehicles on our roads are safe.
We know that when the MOT testing service is unavailable, your priority is to get a contingency code so that you can carry on working. So that’s why we’ve created a new page which you can visit to see the service’s current status.
We’ve received lots of feedback about making technical information about specific vehicles available on the MOT testing service. We’ve already done some work to investigate how we can introduce this to the MOT testing service and we’ve planned more work for the near future.
We’ve now started sending out the new MOT security cards to all trade users of the MOT testing service, that’s over 73,000 people. Over the next 6 weeks we’ll be sending around 2,500 cards every day.
